Your Independence

Line stroke illustration

The fear is real and can take over your life.

You become so afraid of falling

you STOP doing your regular activities.

You start canceling social events and become isolated.

You become so fearful you don’t even want to leave your house.

You never realize decreasing your activities makes you even more unstable.

All because you don't know what to do to prevent a fall.

None of this is your fault

• There’s no need to feel ashamed about this fear. It's very real.

• You spent your whole life working and supporting your family

without the time to work on your own health or fitness.

• You were led to believe exercise was a luxury, not a necessity.

• Women weren’t even suppose to be fit, let alone strong.

• No one knew how strong you needed to be to stay independent.

• Preventing falls was a topic no one ever talked about.

Starting NOW,

you can

change your future.

There is a solution.

For over three decades, I’ve helped hundreds of women and men improve their strength and fitness. Even before the benefits of staying strong were truly understood.

Health Professionals everywhere

agree there are tremendous benefits to

strength training and are even recommending it.

Especially for Seniors

Using decades of strength training experience and the most up-to-date science on:

aging, functional fitness, corrective exercise, and fall prevention,

I’ve developed the Standing Strong program as a comprehensive guide to fall prevention.

It’s designed to be fun and invigorating, while giving you the life changing results

you need to regain or improve your quality of life.

Hi, I’m Joy Fletcher,

Can I be honest? Or perhaps you've already figured this out. To stay or get strong, as you age, your fitness routine needs to be different than when you were younger!

Research has shown that as you age you still need a robust training program to make or maintain fitness gains. But too many times seniors struggle to figure out how to train without getting injured. And the risk of getting injured and causing more pain which can lead isolation is just too great.

If you don’t work on your strength however, your body gets frail, your posture slumps, and you actually experience more pain and stiffness. These changes lead to seniors losing their stability and add up to an increased risk of falling. And in one split second, a devastating fall could end your independence or worse.

That's why I created the Standing Strong program. It's specially designed for seniors, and it's been proven to help you get stronger and improve your balance.

It’s the perfect amount of activity, so you can go from putting your life on hold because of the fear of falling, to a senior who stands tall, stays more active, lives a fuller life, and does it with complete confidence. In other words - it’s life changing.

When I was 25 years old in 1980, I had a goal to get stronger. Not only did I reach my goal, but it changed my life so much that I started training other women and men so they could reach their own goals of getting stronger.

Now as I quickly approach the age of 70, my goal is to STAY strong. And yes, I'm still helping others who have that same goal. In fact, the seniors who participate in my Agile 4 Life Fitness classes are some of the strongest seniors you'll meet!

And if you don’t believe it works, you can ask my 96 year old father about his training.

Read what seniors are saying about this training...

"Since working with Joy through her Agile 4 Life Fitness program my posture has greatly improved. I have much better balance, increased upper and lower body strength and endurance, more flexibility and greater confidence as I walk, do yoga and use resistance bands. I've learned to keep a stable stance and use my core muscles in all of my exercises and daily activities. My physical, mental and emotional health at 75 years of age is far better than it was at 50 years of age!"

Janice Schroeder, Age 75

"Today I learned about proprioceptors - when they kick in - how closing the eyes... heightens the senses - and more. The internet is no impediment to Joy and the way she supplies the vision, the positive energy, precise and rewarding workouts."

— Abbe Bloom, Age 70

"Thanks to Joy I now can say I stand straighter, have better balance, and feel better both physically and mentally. You can find the workout you need with Joy whatever your level of fitness along with support and kindness. Best of all the community

provides me with the interaction I need to keep me going." — Jane Martin, Age 77

"The program is perfect for those who are wanting to start an exercise program. Emphasis on balance and posture are important aspects of the class, something that us older folks always need. I love the workout, and of course how I feel afterward." — Carole Raimondi, Age 81

"I feel I can try the exercises, even if unfamiliar, because I know Joy will point out the right way to move. And as Joy has pointed out in class, my proprioception and balance is much better on the second set, and for me that has been a profound insight." — Lynn Roberts, Age 68

"I am a person who has a bit of a hard time motivating myself to exercise. Because of Joy’s kind ways, experience, and the great people in the group, I was able to consistently attend Joy’s classes and build up my strength in spite of my hip issues. She encourages us to listen to our bodies, avoid the pain and always offers modifications." — Julie Price, Age 67

"Joy is a wonderful trainer, especially for older adults. Her emphasis on posture, and strength training for balance are so necessary to prevent falls. Adaptations for physical limitations are included. So people with knee and hip replacements can improve their strength and balance as well." — Linda Burden, Age 76
